Become a Volunteer with Chalfont Dementia Support

Purpose of the Café

 

  • Provide engaging activities for people with dementia.

  • Offer support and resources for family carers.

  • Create a welcoming community to combat isolation.​​​

Location and Schedule

​

  • Location: St Joseph’s Committee Room, Priory Way, Chalfont St Peter, every first Wednesday of the month. The other meets at St Peter’s Church Hall on the third Wednesday.

  • Times: 10:00am – 12:00pm

Volunteer Responsibilities

  • Attend briefing and training sessions, and plan activities.

  • Assist with room setup, refreshments, and attendee records.

  • Engage with visitors and encourage participation in activities.

  • Adhere to policies, maintain professionalism, and respect confidentiality

  • No personal care tasks for visitors.

  • No advice on legal, financial, or health-related issues

Support for Volunteers

  • Induction and mentoring.

  • Briefing and debriefing sessions.

  • Access to helpful literature and workshops.
